MORE than 12,000 pints were served over three days at the 30th annual Pendle Beer Festival.

Organisers said around £6,500 had been raised for Pendleside Hospice at the festival, which took place at Colne Muni.

A total of 2,700 people came through the doors on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to try 168 different beers.

Martyn Pashley, festival organiser, said: “It was a very good weekend, and donations were up this year which means we have raised around £6,500.

“Every year we get somewhere between 2,500 and 3,000 people attending because we are limited by the size of the venue, and we don’t want to get in to a position where people are queuing to get in in the freezing cold.

“We managed to keep everybody happy until the end. I was really pleased with the bands this year, we had a good variety of music that kept people happy.

“The food was also very popular, especially the black pudding and bacon barms.”
