PROSPECTIVE teachers can still apply to be part of the Pennine Lancashire Teacher Training Partnership.

The partnership, led by Alder Grange, includes Hollins High School in Accrington, Ribblesdale School in Clitheroe and Marsden Heights Community College in Nelson.

Recruitment has already started for September 2014 and there are still places available. Alder Grange’s executive head, Iain Hulland, who is also executive lead of the Teacher Training Partnership said: “The future on teacher training is in partnerships like ours.

“We recruit the trainees, design the training programme for 21st century excellence and provide the quality assurance.

“Ofsted and other key national bodies warmly praise the thinking which went into the programme and the high quality of the ‘offer’.

“It is hard work but there is no higher calling than being a teacher and all our children and young people deserve to be taught by the best professionals.”

The group is recruiting 24 trainee teachers of English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, modern languages and history.
