LANCASHIRE actress Julie Hesmondhalgh has been praised for her role in a new play at Manchester’s Royal Exchange theatre.
Blindsided is set in Stockport and centres around eccentric misfit teenager Cathy Heyer and the manip-ulative John Connolly, who breaks her heart.
Hesmondhalgh plays Cathy’s mother, Susan.
The play has received rave reviews and Hesmondhalgh has been recognised for her part.
Reviewer Susannah Clapp said: “Those who have admired Hesmondhalgh for the meticulous creation of a stalwart character will not be surprised to see her steady, true performance on stage.”
