A LABOURER who had child porn images on two computers, but was in total denial about his perverted behaviour, has been jailed for 20 weeks.

Burnley Crown Court heard how Jamie Pennington, 23, had almost 80 indecent pictures of children, mostly boys, aged between seven and 15. They included 'disturbing' level four images of youngsters being sexually abused by adults and other boys.

Pennington was arrested and claimed he went onto adult porn websites and may have come across the child images accidentally - but, the hearing was told, he had done a two year computer course at college.

The defendant, of Stockbridge Road, Padiham, had admitted four allegations of possessing an indecent photo of a child and had been committed for sentence by Pennine magistrates. He was given a five year Sexual Offences Prevention Order, allowing police to monitor his internet use and was ordered to sign the Sexual Offenders Register for 10 years.

Emma Kehoe, prosecuting, said Pennington was tracked down due to the police being told an image had been uploaded to Microsoft Sky Drive by an IP address, the address the defendant was registered at.

The hearing was told police found 57 images at level one, 10 at level two, three at level three and eight at level four - next to the most serious level.

Hugh McKee, for Pennington, who works for a Burnley skip hire company, said he would lose his job if he was sent to prison.
