DRUGS with a street value of around £30,000 have been taken off the streets after two cannabis farms were discovered in Colne.
Neighbourhood police in the Vivary Bridge area raided houses in Birtwistle Avenue and Lord Street on Monday morning, finding 37 and 21 cannabis plans respectively.
PC Mike Walker said the raids came about through information from members of the public.
He said: “We will always take any information about drug-related activity in the area very seriously and we will act on it.
“We are sending a message that we are not going to allow this kind of thing to happen in this area.”
A 29-year-old man from Colne has been reported for summons at Burnley Magistrates Court in connection with the raids.
