AN ANTI rape and sexual assault campaign has been launched in East Lancashire.

Lancashire Police’s No Consent, No Sex, No Excuses is running over the festive period and is being led by the dedicated serious sexual offences team.

They offered advice to revellers to help them stay safe: n Make sure you stay with friends n Make sure you have enough money to get home safely n Ensure any taxi you use is a licensed hire car Sgt Leah Rice, from the public protection unit, said: “People need to understand that if a woman or man says no, or if they are incapable of consenting, through drink or drugs, then a criminal offence is being committed.

“Sexual assaults and rapes are serious offences and every case is treated with sensitivity and professionalism during what is undoubtedly a very difficult and upsetting time.”
