A MANAGER at a Colne engineering firm won a bumper box of meat pies and Christmas goodies for his colleagues.
Pete Farrell, purchasing manager at ELE Advanced Technologies Ltd, entered a competition run by Clayton Park Bakery to predict the time of the opening goal in last month’s Everton versus Liverpool Merseyside derby.
The only downside was that Man Utd fan Pete won with Liverpool scoring after five minutes.
He said: “As a United fan it usually hurts whenever Liverpool score but on this occasion I didn’t mind too much,”
“It would have been better if Everton had got the first goal but I’m not complaining as it won me a tremendous prize.”
