PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed a fall in unemployment in the borough.
The number of jobless claimants was 1,555, down 544 on November 2012 and 57 lower than last month.
Mr Stephenson said: βIt is great to see a big fall in unemployment across Pendle, with the rate down to just 3.7 per cent not compared to 5 per cent in 2010. The credit has to be given to local employers who are expanding and creating more jobs, but it is clear that Government schemes like the Youth Programme are also helping.β
