PENDLE Leisure Trust’s first Healthy Lifestyles walk of 2014 will take place in Fence.

It will set off at 10am from the car park of the Babar Elephant restaurant in Cuckstool Lane.

Organiser Norman Mitchell said ramblers were welcome from all across Lancashire.

The group’s last walk saw 30 people take in a Ribble Valley route through Simonstone and Read.

Mr Mitchell said: “We set off from the Higher Trapp Hotel, Simonstone, for a brisk walk down to Read Hall and Read Bridge, before heading down the Roman Road, along the ridge above the Sabden Valley and back to the Higher Trapp for a three-course lunch.

“It makes the job of organising walks worthwhile to see so many people turn up, week in, week out, in all types of weather to enjoy the walks, the company, the exercise, and of course, the beautiful Pendle scenery.”
