THE Curried Away stall in Todmorden outdoor market is putting spice into Christmas in aid of a local animal charity.

Jeff Thomson, who runs the stall, will be giving away his original ‘spice mix’, created to liven up leftover Christmas turkey, on behalf of Pennine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

The mix of madras paste and hot spices can be used, with the addition of some sliced vegetables and cold meat, to create a hot and spicy Boxing Day delight.

The mix with recipe sheet normally retails at £1.60 but this Christmas, Jeff is giving it away in return for donations to PAWS.

The charity takes in and fosters out elderly, disabled or abandoned animals, mainly cats and dogs.

Jeff said: “Anyone who collects free a spice mix from the curried away stall will be asked to make a donation towards PAWS.”

The spice mix will be on offer from the stall on Todmorden outdoor market on Saturday.
