FUNDRAISING packs will be handed out to 500 organisations across East Lancashire as part of the Teen Leaders Appeal in partnership with the Lancashire Telegraph.

The packs, which include encouragement from current Young Leaders for people to get involved, offering quick and easy fun ways to raise funds on behalf of the Blackburn Youth Zone. As part of the pack, recipients will also get sponsor forms and target posters to help track their progress.

We want to raise £60,000 to help train 100 Young Leaders, who will gain a qualification and help improve their local communities.

Laura Jones, events manager at the Youth Zone said: “The fundraising pack gives you all the tools you’ll need to fundraise for the Teen Leaders Appeal.

“Inside you’ll find easy ideas to raise as much money as possible.

“From bake-offs to car washes, we encourage as many people as possible to get involved. All fundraisers will receive support all the way from the Blackburn Youth Zone team.

“Every penny you raise will be invested into our young leader programme, creating a brighter future for the town’s young people but also for the wider community.”

Supporters, including mda, Cummins Mellor and PM+M, have already got into the fundraising spirit by organising fun and easy fundraisers in their offices, such as cake sales and dress-down days.

Angela Thomas, commercial manager at Cummins Mellor, said: “We are passionate about young people, which is why we relate to and share the Youth Zone’s vision of investing in young people. Our cake sale is just one example of how businesses and their employees can come together to raise funds that will be invested in the future of our community — its young people.”

Accrington-based recruitment firm Cummins Mellor will host a fundraising ball in the new year with all proceeds going directly to the Zone.
