EAST Lancashire Railway is offering Christmas shoppers a scenic alternative to seasonal traffic.
A diesel train will be taking a route from Heywood to Rawtenstall via the Irwell Valley this Wednesday and again on Wednesday, December 18.
There will also be exclusive offers from nearby shops, cafes and pubs along the way.
Kate Walker, marketing manager at the ELR, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response from local businesses and hope it will be a real community success.”
Unlimited travel tickets are £4.80 for adults and £3.20 for children and concessions.
