DOCTORS from around the country attended a training event in East Lancashire to help support clinicians and their patients with chronic pelvic pain.
As part of the study day at the Dunkenalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors, which was the first of its kind, nine consultants presented topics giving insight into pelvic pain and management for sufferers.
More than 50 medics were in attendance to gather valuable information to help support patients with the condition.
Dr Magdy Aglan, consultant and clinical lead for the pain management service at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “Chronic pain is not really understood, but by raising awareness of the conditions and helping professionals to have a better understanding, it allows us to improve chronic pain management for our patients and improve their quality of life.”
The trust’s pain management service has a team of 27 people who deal with patients who are living with chronic pain.
