FORMER Manchester United stars Chris Casper and John O’Kane rubbed shoulders with their old team-mates at the premiere of a film about the club’s famous Class of ‘92.

Burnley-born Casper and O’Kane, who lives in Darwen, were given the red carpet treatment at the Odeon Leicester Square, in central London.

Both were interviewed for the documentary, which charts the rise to fame of United legends David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt.

Casper, son of Clarets legend Frank, said it had been difficult to stay in touch with all the of the academy’s graduates down the years.

He said: “It’s always nice to meet up. I think we’ve all moved on and everyone has made a success of their lives.

“We should all be proud of what we’ve achieved.

“It was interesting to see myself on the big screen, I’ve never been in a film before.

“We had a bit of a kickabout at The Cliff during recording, which is such an iconic place.

“You go back to the likes of Denis Law and Duncan Edwards who trained there and it was just a privilege to play in that team and know those lads.”

Casper, who lives in Helmshore with his wife Karen and two children, went on to play for Reading before a double leg break ended his career in 1999.

He previously managed Bury and now works as a club support manager for the Premier League.

O’Kane, who lives in Darwen with his wife Simone and their two children, said: “I was at the club for nine years and it was amazing.

“I wouldn’t have given that up for anything in the world.

“I’ve stayed more in touch with the lads who didn’t make it and since this has been made we’ve been in touch more.”

The 39-year-old, who played eight games on loan at Burnley in 1998, now works at Bury College and is set for a new role as United’s East Lancashire scout in the New Year.

Another star of the movie, Phil Neville, married Crawshawbooth woman Julie Killelea in St James-The-Less RC Church, Rawtenstall in 1999.
