Burnley and Pendle Citizen: Recruitment drive at Burnley’s call centre HQ Recruitment drive at Burnley’s call centre HQ

AN expanding telecoms company is looking to recruit 30 more staff ahead of a move to Burnley’s historic Weavers’ Triangle.

New Call Telecom said it was looking for new employees of all ages as it engineers a relocation from Simonstone to the former cotton heartland.

Nigel Eastwood, the company’s chief executive, said: “This recruitment drive is the latest effort to ensure we continue to have a quality team to support our rapidly growing business.”

Bosses are hosting a recruitment open day at Lindred Road on the Lomeshaye industrial estate, near Nelson, on Saturday, November 16.

Another similar exercise six months ago saw 60 workers join their ranks, swelling the workforce to 110.

The firm made national headlines last year when it became one of the few enterprises to relocate its contact centre from Mumbai to East Lancashire. It is believed Mr astwood, originally from Burnley, was attracted to the low price of opening a call centre in Lancashire.

Mr Eastwood is especially keen to make a success of the Weavers’ Triangle move, as his forefathers helped to construct the iconic mills, off Sandygate and Trafalgar Street.

He said: “This is a brilliant place to run a business with a skilled workforce and a real enterprise culture.

“New Call has enjoyed strong growth since its move to Burnley, and we are excited about the next stage of our development relocating to Weavers’ Triangle and increasing employee numbers.”

The company is behind brands such as Primus Saver and Planet Talk and recently received the backing of top City investor Dr Jerome Booth.
