Woman killed in Hapton house fire
A YOUNG woman was found dead after a blaze in a terraced home.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene in Manchester Road, Hapton, at 10.45pm on Sunday night.
Three fire engines were called to the scene and firefighters tackled the blaze while searching the house for casualties.
They discovered the woman, who was deceased, inside.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and a joint investigation between Lancashire Fire and Rescue and Lancashire Police has began this morning.
A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said: “At 10-45pm on Sunday, October 27th, police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a fire at a terraced house in Manchester Road at Hapton.
“Sadly a woman aged in her early 20s was found deceased at the address. The fire is currently being treated as unexplained and a joint police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service investigation is under way.”
