Shoppers reassured over Darwen car park
1:33pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
SHOPPERS may have some disruption when they use the Darwen Sainsbury’s store as improvements to the car park are carried out.
Work began yesterday at the supermarket in Hardman Way to improve traffic flow for customers.
New white lines will be painted and the store’s signage is to be upgraded, as well as the road being resurfaced.
Work has been scheduled to take place from Monday to Thursday, from 7.30am to 6pm, and is expected to last until October 23.
Resurfacing work will be carried out in two phases on Sundays, October 13 and 20, after the store has closed.
Project manager Gary Boot said: “We are very pleased to be improving the car park at our store in Darwen.
“Throughout the resurfacing work, half of the car park will remain open, and the Sainsbury’s store will be open as usual.
“All disabled spaces and parent and child spaces will be available throughout the work.
“Residents and customers can be reassured that our contractors will ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum at all times.”
