New lease of life for Burnley homes
1:06pm Monday 9th September 2013 in News
EIGHT empty homes in Burnley have been made the subject of a Compulsory Purchase Order in a bid to bring them back into use.
The properties are in Dickson Street, Gannow Lane, Randall Street, Brennand Street and Queensbury Road.
Burnley Council’s ‘Empty Homes Clusters’ programme aims to identify groups of empty properties suitable for refurbishment and being brought back into use.
Coun Howard Baker, council’s executive member for housing and environment, said: “This is about improving the quality of houses across the borough and boosting the quality of life for residents around them.”
