A MIDDLE-AGED man flouted the sexual offenders’ register order he was placed on after slapping a teenage girl’s bottom, a court heard.
Bryan Hart, 52, had not told police of a change of address, and had been living at a property where there was a child under 18, which he was banned from doing.
Burnley magistrates were told how Hart had been ordered to sign the register for two years as a result of a police caution for sexual touching, in November 2012.
Hart, of Market Street, Colne, admitted two counts of failing to comply with the sex offenders’ register, at Colne, between May 18 and July 20.
The jobless defendant, who is on benefits, was fined £110, with a £20 victim surcharge, and was detained in the court precincts until the end of morning court in lieu of payment.
Bench chairman Neil Tranmer said the case was an ‘unusual situation’.
