Drug addict from Nelson clocks up 100th offence
3:14pm Thursday 22nd August 2013 in News
A DRUG addict who pushed a police officer who had turned up at his door in the early hours of the morning has clocked up his 100th offence.
Burnley Magistrates heard that Axis Robertson, 38, had 99 offences on his record and all but one of them was for theft.
The court was told he had a single conviction for assault, from 22 years ago, when he was 16.
The hearing was told that Robertson had been awoken from a deep sleep by police officers who had brought his ‘drunken’ sister to safety at his house.
But when he finally went to the door, they had already arrested her and the defendant then tried to get an officer away from his sister.
Robertson, of Pine Street, Nelson, admitted assaulting PC Joanne McCoy on August 2.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge and must pay a £15 victim surcharge.
