Nelson woman stole mobile phone

A PROLIFIC thief stole the owner’s mobile phone when she went to a lettings agency to look for a home.
Burnley magistrates were told how Amanda Kerr, 33, who has almost 80 theft offences on her record, had money troubles and succumbed to temptation.
Kerr, of Canal Mews, Nelson, admitted theft. The defendant, subject of a conditional discharge, was given a 12 month community order with supervision and told to attend the Lancashire Women’s Specified Activity Requirement. She must pay £100 compensation.
