BREWERY chiefs have toasted production of their 20 billionth pint.
A celebration event took place at AB InBev, Samlesbury, where special guests were given a tour of the brewery and taught to pour the perfect pint.
The firm has produced lagers, including Budweiser and Stella Artois, for more than four decades.
Neil Nersesian, manager of the brewery, said: “Producing our 20 billionth pint was a great milestone for the whole brewery team and was a testament to their hard work and commitment.”
The event, which was attended by the Mayor of South Ribble and guests from the community, included a tour of the brewery and various ‘tasting’ sessions.
Guests were encouraged by food experts to experiment tasting different combinations of beer with a variety of fish and cheeses, as well as Belgian chocolates.
Expert bartenders also took part in a ‘pouring ritual’, in which contenders battled it out to pour the perfect pint, the winner receiving an engraved Stella Artois chalice.
To mark their achievement, the team at Samlesbury has created a special 20th billionth pint Stella Artois keg, which will remain on display in the brewery.
