Teenagers arrested in Padiham after car chase

TEENAGERS were arrested for dangerous driving and damaging vehicles after a police chase.

Two 16-year-olds were arrested in Padiham after a van was stolen in Clayton-le-Moors on Wednesday night.

The police helicopter was called in to help track the Vauxhall Combo Van, which is said to have hit several vehicles en route between the two areas.

The vehicle was abandoned in St Giles Street at 9.30pm, four miles from where it had been taken.

Police arrested two 16-year-old Padiham youths at the scene.

One was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking.

The other was arrested for aggravated vehicle taking.

They were being questioned by officers yesterday.
