Launch for new Pendle tourist guide

THE new Discover Pendle Visitor Guide, to be rolled out across the UK, is launched today at Thorn- ton Hall Farm, near Barnoldswick.

Coun Paul White, who leads on tourism for Pendle, said: “Our beautiful and peaceful corner of Lancashire is actually big business for tourism and is worth over £80million to the local economy. You can find out about what Pendle has to offer in our new 32-page guide. This year our cover story is the amazing new Pendle Sculpture Trail, inspired by the true story of the Pendle Witches of 1612.”

Tourism officer Mike Williams said: “This year we’ve tried to personalise some of the attractions. We have the Duffeys, a family from Saltburn, and their account of visiting the area, and Norman Mitchell, a leader at our Walking Festival, talks about walks in Pendle.”

The free guides are available at the Discover Pendle centre at Boundary Mill or Pendle Heritage Centre.

In this, the 21st century, you would think it would be worthwhile to provide a link so that the guide could be downloaded by interested readers of this article!

Well, what would you know! A quick Google search, and I've found it:

Quite why the journalist who wrote the article couldn't do this, or ask Coun White or Mr Williams directly, is a mystery.
