Raymond Hill
A CONMAN who struck at banks across East Lancashire posing as someone else has been jailed for four months.
Burnley magistrates heard how Raymond George Hill, 62, tried his hand at a string of frauds, attempting to get cash from branches of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
He stole £1,600 from the bank's Blackburn branch and also tried to trick his way to several thousand more at that and two other branches.
Hill, of Stockport Road, Hyde, Cheshire, struck over two days, last November.
A hearing was told on November 23 how he went to the Royal Bank of Scotland in Burnley and tried to get £200, pretending to be Roy Chamberlain.
He also attempted to get money at RBS in Preston on the same day.
The defendant had struck twice in Blackburn the day before.
He had stolen the money belonging to Royal Bank of Scotland and had also committed fraud.
Hill admitted three counts of fraud by false representation by posing as Roy Chamberlain and one allegation of theft.
