Colin and Sue at their shop in Church Street
A COFFEE shop in Colne has opened thanks to a shot of council cash.
Pendle Council awarded About Coffee, run by husband and wife team Colin and Sue Unwin, a £3,000 grant to improve their Victorian building in Church Street.
Coun Paul White said: “About Coffee is one of the many new businesses that have benefited from a council grant.
“It’s great to see that they’ve put it to good use.”
Colin said: “The grant was very useful. It makes the project viable because the building was in such a poor condition and required so much remedial work.” Colin and Sue have both come from different business backgrounds to run the shop.
Colin was a teacher and Sue was a bio-mechanical engineer and worked in textiles.
