Pendle MP takes school bid to the top

PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has asked Education Secretary Michael Gove to back a bid for major improvements to a secondary school in his constituency.

He told the minister in the House of Commons: “You will be aware that Colne Primet High converted to academy status as part of a multi-academy trust, the Pendle Education Trust, on January 1 this year.

“It has recently submitted an excellent bid for capital funding through the Education Funding Agency to carry out much-needed improvements to its school building.

“Will you let me know how I can draw this excellent bid to your attention and that of the rest of your team?”

Mr Gove replied: “You have just done so, with characteristic acuity and passion.”
