Pendle residents urged to buy compost bins

PENDLE residents still have four weeks to buy a discounted compost bin, before a price increase comes in at the start of April.
Coun John David, who represents recycling in the borough, said: “Home composting is one way to reduce the amount of waste we put into our bins.
“Composting selected kitchen and garden waste is an easy and effective way of reducing, reusing and recycling some of the daily waste we produce, while providing significant benefits for our gardens and the wider environ- ment.
“It is simple to do and once you get started, you will be surprised at just how much daily household waste can be recycled this way.”
Compost bins are available through a company named Get Composting. They work with councils across the UK to provide compost bins.
Compost bins and accessories can be ordered via www.getcomposting.com or by calling 0844 571 4444.
