Repair works will shut down Barnoldswick sports centre for six weeks

THE swimming pool at West Craven Sports Centre will shut for five weeks for major refurbishment work.

The pool at the Barnoldswick leisure centre will get new changing rooms, showers and lockers and improved changing facilities for families and the disabled.

The poolside area will be closed from next Monday and will reopen on Good Friday, March 29.The gym and all exercise classes will not be affected and a limited swimming and water-based exercise class timetable will be in place, Monday to Friday, during the five weeks.

Paul Whittaker, centre manager, said: “I know this will cause some inconvenience, but I’m sure customers will agree it will be worth it.”

People can still use Pendle Leisure Trust’s other pools at Pendle Wavelengths, Nelson, and Pendle Leisure Centre, Colne.
