Storytellers collect traditional tales
1:14pm Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News
PROFESSIONAL storytellers will work with Burnley residents to collect traditional tales.
Storyteller Sue Allonby is preparing a performance of folklore and and local history stories based on stories she collects from people living in and around the town, which will be shown at Burnley Library on May 16.
She is appealing for anybody with any ideas to get in touch.
Sue said: “I'm looking for any stories that are told orally within families, workplaces or the community in general, which people would be willing to share with me and for me to include as part of performance.
“They could be family tales, stories of courage, famous residents, local legends, tales of magic and mystery.
“The only criteria is that they contain elements of wonder as stories in their own right.”
