Donation set to blossom at Nelson station
12:32pm Thursday 14th February 2013 in News
MORE than 8,000 flower bulbs have been donated to help Nelson blossom this spring and summer.
Bosses at Wilkinson’s, in Pendle Rise shopping centre, have handed over daffodil and other varieties to Nelson In Bloom. And the horticultural gift will mainly be used to populate the flower beds at Nelson railway station.
Coun Eileen Ansar, Nelson Town Council chairman and a borough councillor, said: “We would like to thank Wilkinson’s for their donation – it will certainly brighten up Nelson later this year.”
The Nelson In Bloom group, launched last July, has so far concentrated on the beds around The Shuttle artwork and planters along Scotland Road and Market Street.
