Pervert exposed himself to schoolgirl in Padiham

A FLASHER is being hunted by police after exposing himself to a schoolgirl in Padiham.

The girl was left terrified by the incident and now police have launched a hunt to track down the pervert.

The man performed a sex act in front of a 15-year-old in Church Street, opposite Double Row, as she waited for a bus.

Police said the incident, which happened at around 7.25am on Tuesday, February 5, was ‘disgraceful’.

The teenager was standing at a bus stop when the man shouted from the opposite side of the road to attract her attention.

As she looked across the road, the man exposed himself and performed the act.

The girl ran away towards a friend who was walking to the bus stop. The man ran off and disappeared behind nearby housing. He is described as being white, aged in his mid-30s, approximately 5ft 6inches tall and of medium build.

He had a round shaped face with a pale complexion, stubble, and short, dark, scruffy hair.

He was wearing a mid-blue tracksuit top, with grey stripes running down the front on both sides of the zip, and brown trousers.

DC Steven Acres, from Burnley CID, appealed for any witnesses to come forward. He said: “This is a disgraceful incident which left the young girl very upset.

“I’d appeal to anybody that thinks they know the identity of this man or with any information about this offence to come forward and contact Lancashire police on 101.”

In July 2010, a serial flasher struck six times in Burnley and Padiham, including once in Church Street.
