THE dress worn by Kate Winslet in the Titanic movie will be spending its final week in the UK this week.

The dress worn by the Oscar-winning star was made famous in the 1998 movie by James Cameron, when her character Rose famously stood at the bow of the Titanic.

It has been on display at the Titanic In Lancashire Museum, in Colne, for the last five months, but this week marks visitors last chance to see a piece of movie history, before it heads off to the United States.

Nigel Hampson, museum curator, said: “It has been great having the outfit on display here and it has proved very popular.

“We are extremely grateful to our good friends at White Star Memories for loaning it to us.”

The dress, along with many other items from the White Star Memories collection, will be winging its way over the Atlantic in early February to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where it will go on display at the Titanic themed attraction there.
