Jobs set to be axed at Turf Moor Jobs set to be axed at Turf Moor

JOBS are set to go at Turf Moor after Burnley FC announced it is to ‘streamline’ its ticketing and retail departments.

Full-time and part-time staff are being consulted as the Clarets look to make redundancies, despite announcing in November that it had made a profit of £3.16million for the year ending 30 June, 2012.

That came largely thanks to the sale of Jay Rodriguez to Southampton, and the club actually made an operating loss of £4.4 million.

A spokesperson said: “Burnley Football Club can confirm that it has entered a consultation process with all staff from the ticket office and retail departments.

“This is pursuant to a proposal to streamline operations by integrating both departments into a single department.

“The service provided to supporters remains unaffected by these proposed changes and there are no plans to halt the sales of tickets at either Turf Moor or the Clarets Store in Charter Walk.”

The club hopes the process will eventually see all retail transactions — on-line, tickets and club shop — come under one umbrella.

A physical ticket office will remain at the stadium.

Good news - the antiquated ticketing ordering system needed an overhaul.

I must admit, I don't attend as many games now - with a young family a mortgage and rising house-associated costs, I'm priced-out of attending regularly!
