LT. Why is it that you are not allowing comment on numerous major news stories you print here? The latest one is about a Syrian shepherd who has supposedly become a drug addict since moving to Blackburn. Another is the big story of today regarding the Halal food issue in Lancashire schools which has even been on the local radio all day. I have trawled down your website page to eventually ferret it out only to find, once again, NO COMMENT. Why is this?
You often, quite understandably, say it is because of legal reasons because a trial may not have taken place yet. This cannot be the reason here so what is going on? I think it is incumbent on you to explain to your loyal readers why you will not allow free, open and healthy discussion on some (often controversial) local issues rather than seeking to repress it, which can only stoke up resentment as you deny free speech.
I, for one, read online news media as much for learning of readers' views on things (from both side of an argument) as much as, if not more than, just getting the writer's slant. I suggest you do the reputation of journalism no good in doing so and I would much appreciate your response to my concerns but expect this comment to disappear - just like all those recently about Child Sex Abuse By Muslims.
If this is done to help social cohesion and to avoid local conflict in society, I suggest it has exactly the opposite effect i.e, feelings are best vented.

Mr Foster Its known as racism and authoritarianism it comes in all shapes and sizes. The LET have a fine line to walk in the east of Lancashire and they must come under all sorts of pressure from different cultures religions and faiths to ensure that they walk the line.
This week the LET run a story regarding on a huge compensation payout of £800.000 for a sprained finger to a LCC worker who can't be named for legal reasons. The story made the national papers yet the LET stopped comments on it almost as quick as they ushered this story past the people that it affects the most LET readers us the local tax payers who payed out the claim not the ones who authorised it and who most likely had comments closed on it......
Our forefathers died for free speech but while we have Banksters and Polimagicians ruling the day I'm affraid to report that the free speech is nil and void.
