A BARNOLDSWICK motorcyclist who died in a crash near Skipton has been named.
Ian Barry Walsh, was killed after a collision on the A59 at around 4.35pm on Sunday, October 14.
Police investigating the crash, which happened at West Marton, near Skipton, are appealing for two witnesses, who they describe as “vital” to come forward.
Mr Walsh's red Suzuki motorcycle left the road and hit a tree after colliding with a red Volkswagen Golf.
Officers investigating the collision are urgently trying to trace two people who were at the scene who could be key to their enquiries.
One is a male nurse from Guy's Hospital in London and the other is an Asian man who had a full beard and was dressed in traditional clothing.
Both men stopped and attempted to help Mr Walsh prior to the arrival of emergency services but left the scene before speaking to officers.
Traffic Sergeant Pete Stringer, of Skipton Road Policing Group, said: "I need to speak to these two witnesses as soon as possible. They may have information that is vital to the investigation and I urge them to get in touch."
Father-of-one Mr Walsh leaves partner Greta and brother Tony.
Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for Pete Stringer or Skipton Road Policing Group.
