Freddie Prinze Jr has revealed that starring in 24 almost made him quit acting, because of his co-star Kiefer Sutherland.

The 38-year-old actor, who played Jack Bauer's partner Cole Ortiz in the TV thriller, admitted working alongside Kiefer was such an unhappy experience that it nearly led to him giving up on his career altogether.

"I did 24, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it," he told ABC News. "I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.

"Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."

The She's All That and I Know What You Did Last Summer hunk, who next voices Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars Rebels, continued to vent: "I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), for Christ's sake... but, at least he was cool and tall.

"I didn't have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do [at 24]. Just put the guy on an apple box or don't hire me next time. You know I'm 6 feet and he's 5'4," he added, although published reports indicate that Kiefer is actually 5'9.

Kiefer's representative told People that the 24 star had no knowledge of Freddie's beef with him.

"Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze Jr more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie's grievances. Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best," the spokesperson said.
