DARWEN Jazz and Blues Festival will be back this summer with two days of great music — all under one roof.
Darwen Aldridge Community Academy will be hosting the event, with two stages featuring 11 artists over two days.
The annual festival — the town’s third — will run on Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12.
A wide range of top class music will be available, ranging from big bands such as Dizzy Hack and the Rhino Horns to smaller outfits such as Neil Yates’ trumpet tribute to Freddie Hubbard and acclaimed young jazz tombonist Callum Au.
The diversity of sounds for the weekend will include the Latin rhythms of Kiki Sire and Son Tropical, the blues of Kiki Deville and the Cadillacs and the Swing Gitans through to the boogie woogie of Justin Randell.
Advance tickets for the festival are now on sale.
A two-day festival pass is £16.50 with advance tickets for Saturday £8 and Sunday £10.
As well as the main venue, a number of fringe events are being lined up around the town.
And having sold out a show at the Library Theatre earlier this month, Hue and Cry have announced they are to return to the venue on Saturday, August 11 to headline the festival.
Tickets for that show are £19.50 in advance.
